Author Guidelines

Journal of Eastern - Western Pharmacology and Pharmacy (JEWPP) is a scientific journal which aims to encourage integration of knowledge among those disciplines that underpin medical and pharmaceutical sciences, published by the Mongolian University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

It is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal, which welcomes concise papers presenting original research data or methodology in all areas of pharmaceutical science from authors throughout the world.

JEWPP is striving to provide the best platform for researchers and scholars worldwide to exchange their latest findings. Authors are encouraged to submit complete, unpublished, original works that are not under review in any other journals.

The journal is published semi-annual in English and publishes original paper, short communications and reviews. The journal is published in both print and online versions.

Papers’ content focuses on scientifically described or ensured experimental outcome observed on internationally accepted methodological approaches to understanding and managing actual interactions within or among medical systems.

All manuscripts are initially screened on their topic suitability and linguistic quality. Authors are fully responsible for the form and content of their papers. Failure to comply with the formal and scientific criteria should result in eventual resubmission or rejection of the manuscript.

This system of refereeing, where anonymity is preserved both for the authors and the referees, has been adopted by the Journal; authors’ names, addresses and email from the title of the submitted manuscript, and the acknowledgement section is removed for the refereeing.

Types of submission

The Journal of Eastern - Western Pharmacology and Pharmacy welcomes all scientific contributions to the journal in an effort to accommodate the vast array of needs and interests. All manuscripts are subject to review by the Editor, Associate Editors, and Invited Referees. Acceptance is based on the originality, significance, and validity of the material presented. The journal accepts the range of manuscript types: Original articles, Short communications, and Review articles.

Original articles (up to 6,500 words) should report the results of original research, which is the most common type of journal manuscript. The material should not have been published previously elsewhere. It must also include a structured abstract of no more than 300 words. The original articles should contain the following main, distinct sections: Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, Conclusions, Conflict of Interest, Acknowledgements, References, Tables, and Figures.

Short communications (up to 2500 words) is a concise, but complete description of an investigation and should be completely documented by reference. Short communications should contain the following main, distinct sections: Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, Conclusions, Conflict of Interest, Acknowledgements, References, Tables, and Figures.

Review articles (up to 8,500 words) provide a comprehensive summary of research on a particular discipline. Review paper is written after invitation from the editors of a journal in up to 8 pages and commonly cites approximately 50 primary research articles.

Font: 11-point Times New Roman;

Line Spacing: 1.5 spaced text throughout;

All subtitles should be in left alignment and bold style

Math formulae and units:

  • Mathematical writing should be described in equitation program and center-aligned. Leave 11pt space before and after the paragraph;
  • Scientific measurements are descried according the SI system, e.g. kg/ha, mg/l,g/kg, mg/kg, mg/l, μm/g, ml/l, etc.; m or mm must be used.
  • Do not repeat units in lists, e.g. 3, 10, 17 and 30 °C; 20 or 30 % more. Use % after numbers, not per cent, e.g. 7 % .
  • Numerical results should be displayed as means with their relevant standard errors and degrees of freedom. Normally a mean should be rounded to one-tenth of its standard error and the standard error given to one place of decimals more than the mean.

Style and Editorial Conventions

  • Dates are written as 02 April 2014; from 19 April to 26 May; from 2015 to 2017 or between 2015 and 2016.

Title Page

This should include the title of the article and the list of authors, including their full names (first and last name) and institutional affiliations (department, institution, city, state/province, country). Institutional affiliations should be denoted with superscript numbers. The title should be succinct and descriptive. A separate running title of fewer than 40 characters (including spaces) must also be provided with the manuscript. The name, degree, address (department, institutional affiliation, city, state/province, zip code and country), telephone number (including country code), fax number (including country code), and email address of the corresponding author should be stated at the bottom of the title page.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should be no longer than 300 words for Review Articles, Original Articles, and Short Communications. It should summarize the study concisely.

Up to five keywords should be listed below the abstract.

Introduction

The function of an introduction is to present background of the work and the field of research, importance of the subject, and focus of the paper (statement of purpose, scope). Align the text left.

Materials and Methods

The Materials and Methods section should be written concisely, yet detailed enough for others to interpret and replicate the research. It should be subdivided by additional numbered headings to describe multiple study methods. A statement confirming the appropriate care and use of animals involved in research is required for studies involving experimental animals. Technical information, equipment details (manufacturer’s name, brief address), procedures, and statistical methods should be included.

Results

Results should be presented in a logical order and the tables and figures should be numbered in the order they are referenced to in the text. The purpose of tables and figures is to summarize data, so this data should not be repeated in the text. Tables and figures should be explained as to what they show in the Results section. Datasets which are too large for the main text body, but which are necessary for interpretation of the study, may be included as supplementary material. Probability values (p-values) should be reported for all statistical tests.

Discussion

In the Discussion section, results should be discussed

in the context of existing knowledge of a subject area and how the new data advances the knowledge in this subject area. Tables and figures should be referenced, and important implications of the data they present should be discussed. Limitations of the study should be presented as well. Conclusions should be drawn in this section but fully supported by the data presented.

Conclusions

It should be concise and clear based on results, left aligned.

Conflict of Interest

If the sources of funding or personal involvements with a product or sponsor of research could have affected the integrity of the study or interpretation of results, these conflicts of interest must be disclosed. All sources of funding should be listed here. If there is no conflict of interest, please include that “The authors state no conflict of interest”. Potential conflicts of interest should also be described in the Cover Letter.

Acknowledgements

Persons who contributed to the study but not to the degree to earn authorship may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section.

References or Literature cited:

A single blank line with 12sp space is left.

Reference list entries should be listed alphabetically by the last names of the first author of each work aligned left. References in the text should be written only by the number corresponding to the bibliographic list, marked

by square brackets [1]. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Journal names and book titles should be italicized.
